Laundry Room/Mud Room Cabinet Makeover!

Cabinet Makeover!

I've seen so many neat things done to cabinets, so I thought I'd give it a whirl!

Our Laundry Room is the first room in the house we're remodeling and we're almost finished! I can't wait to share the final product with everyone, but until then I've been posting a little at a time!

I still need to push the washer & dryer back together and centered!

I found these strage things at Target in the $1 section for $2.50. They're like a grassy/bamboo large...hanging room divider with pockets?
Haha I'm not quite sure what they are to tell you the truth!
...But now they're my cabinets!

I bought 2 since I wasn't sure how much I would need and good thing because look at what my little angels did to one!!!

I'm certainly happy with how they turned out and think it's an improvement from what they were!

I added a few pulls and Vwala! They look like new!

  1. I cut the pink edges off the unknown items purchased from Target and then simply glued them on the cabinets using cabinet glue. It was an easy 1-2-3!

  3. Very cute! I lived in Hawaii for 3 yrs. Those things are beach mats belive it or not! What a terrific idea to do with them. I once took the blue edged one and made it into a bamboo shade for my boys room :)

  17. Putting the beach mats into the recessed part of the cabinet doors is a great idea! I used plain beach mats (no pockets) and wrapped them around open shelving in our bathroom closet. I only needed a hot glue gun as the colored bias border edging was hidden from view. BTW, these grassy beach mats have been around Hawaii since I moved here in the late 70s; they are really versatile. Thanks for sharing your terrific project!
